MOGADISHU — Somali National Army (SNA) forces recently carried out a highly successful, strategic ambush targeting Khawaarij militants operating in the eastern Hiiraan region. In a targeted operation focused on the Abaar Cano-weyn area, geographically positioned between the Yasooman district and Moqokori, government troops intercepted and entirely eliminated a militant transport vehicle, resulting in the neutralization of all combatants aboard.
Disrupting Militant Supply Lines

Colonel Ali Agey, Commander of the 27th Division of the Somali National Army, officially verified the operation’s success to state military channels. According to his battlefield account, the militants’ tactical combat truck was completely destroyed during the initial phase of the attack. Government forces maintained complete, overwhelming control throughout the brief engagement, safely confiscating the extremists’ heavy weapons and remaining ammunition before returning to their forward operating base without sustaining any injuries.
