Four senior officials from the Office of the Auditor General of Somalia (OAG), including the Deputy Auditor General, have successfully graduated from a world-class leadership development programme jointly organized by the African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) and Henley Business School Africa.
The programme, designed to enhance the leadership capabilities of audit institutions across the continent, equips participants with critical skills in strategic oversight, good governance, and institutional accountability.
This graduation marks a significant milestone for Somalia’s public financial management reform agenda.
The participation of Somalia’s top audit officials signals a commitment to strengthening independent oversight and building institutional resilience.
The graduates are expected to play a key role in driving systemic improvements in transparency and public accountability at a time when Somalia is undergoing vital governance and fiscal reforms.
Commenting on the achievement, the Auditor General’s Office stated, “This is a proud moment for Somalia. Investing in leadership development within our oversight institutions is essential to advancing good governance and restoring public trust.”
AFROSAI-E and Henley Africa have consistently provided cutting-edge leadership training tailored to the needs of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) across Africa.
Their programmes are recognized for fostering visionary leadership, ethical standards, and innovation in the public sector.
The graduation of Somalia’s audit leaders represents not only personal achievement but also a broader step toward strengthening democratic accountability and oversight institutions within the country.
