Somali Cabinet Approves a Visa-Free Deal for Diplomats with Indonesia 

Mogadishu, Somalia – In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations, the Federal Government of Somalia has approved a visa exemption agreement with the Republic of Indonesia.

The decision was reached during the Council of Ministers’ weekly meeting held on Thursday in Mogadishu, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama.

The agreement allows for the waiving of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and service passports from both countries, promoting smoother official travel and cooperation between government representatives.

According to a statement released after the meeting, the Council emphasized that this move will enhance diplomatic engagement, foster mutual trust, and facilitate increased collaboration in areas such as trade, education, and security.

Deputy PM Jama underscored the importance of building strategic international partnerships, noting that Somalia is expanding its global diplomatic footprint and diversifying its foreign relations.

The Somalia-Indonesia visa waiver deal marks a positive diplomatic milestone as both nations seek to deepen ties across multiple sectors.
