Somalia’s cabinet has approved the implementation of a defense agreement between Somalia and Egypt, which was signed in January 2024.
This agreement is expected to enhance military cooperation between the two countries, contributing to improved security and defense capabilities in Somalia.
The partnership with Egypt could provide Somalia with additional support in areas such as training and intelligence sharing.
Furthermore, it also seeks to improve strategic planning in their ongoing efforts to stabilize Somalia and the entire region while combating militant threats by groups such as Al-Shabaab.
