An extortonist who worked for the Islamic State in Somalia will spend the next 15 years of his life behind bars.
On Tuesday, a military court found Warsame Abdi Hassan Adam guilty of extorting money from Mogadishu businesses.
Apparently, he had been doing so since 2022 on behalf of the Islamic State.
The 37-year-old father of six was captured by security agents in October 2022. He was charged with extortion and belonging to a proscribed group.
