Fiqi Launches Language and Translation Centre for SNA

Mogadishu, Somalia – Ahmed Moallim Fiqi has opened a new Centre for Language and Translation to enhance communication and linguistic skills among defence personnel.

The inauguration event at the Ministry of Defence headquarters attracted senior officials, including Brig. Gen. Madey Nur Sheikh Ufurow, Assistant to the Chief of Defence Forces, former Deputy Defence Minister Abdifitah Qassim, members of parliament, and personnel from the ministry and SNA.

In his speech, Fiqi stated that the Centre would play a vital role in readying military officers and ministry staff for international training and cooperation initiatives. He portrayed the facility as a key strategic resource to bolster Somalia’s ties with international partners.

The minister explained that the Centre seeks to improve language proficiency and translation services within the ministry and the SNA, guaranteeing that national security activities receive the required linguistic support.

Fiqi encouraged staff to fully utilize the Centre’s resources, adding that stronger language abilities would enable personnel to better carry out their national responsibilities.
