MOGADISHU — The Somali Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Education, H.E. Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, hosted a high-level delegation from the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) in the capital on Friday.
The diplomatic mission was headed by the organization’s Director-General, Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar.
Strategic Partnership
The meeting provided a strategic forum for both officials to deliberate on enhancing Somalia’s academic and cultural domains. Minister Farah and Dr. Mohamed Ould Amar participated in an extensive dialogue centered on improving educational quality nationwide.
They examined multiple opportunities for collaboration, including:

Evaluating Infrastructure
The Arab League delegation’s visit aims to evaluate Somalia’s current educational infrastructure firsthand. The primary goal is to create a strong framework for enduring collaboration between the Federal Ministry and ALECSO.
This partnership seeks to enable the sharing of technical knowledge and resources, ensuring that Somali educational institutions meet regional benchmarks and address the country’s developmental requirements.
Both parties demonstrated a firm dedication to strengthening ties between Mogadishu and the Arab League’s specialized agencies. The talks emphasized the significance of incorporating scientific research and cultural conservation into the national recovery strategy.
