The Minister of Internal Security, Mohamed Ahmed Sheikh Ali Doodishe, strongly condemned the shooting in Kismayo on Saturday,l.
Doodishe described it as “a terrorist attack orchestrated by Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe” targeting independent politicians, including federal Senator and presidential contender Badal Gabose.
In a televised address, Doodishe criticized regional authorities for allegedly using security forces to suppress political opposition, highlighting the dangerous precedent such actions set for regional stability.
He further warned Jubbaland soldiers and officials against engaging in politically motivated actions, cautioning that such behavior could lead to legal consequences, including prosecution.
This incident has added tension to Somalia’s ongoing political challenges, particularly in federal-regional relations and the management of political opposition.
