Dr. Abdirahman Beileh, Somalia’s Minister of Finance, held discussions on economic reforms with officials from two of the world’s most prominent financial institutions.
The minister met with officials from the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) on March 22.
Some of the officials he met with included IMF’s Kristalina Georgieva and World Bank’s Hafez Ghanem.
Georgieva is IMF’s Managing Director.
On the other hand, Ghanem serves as the World Bank’s Vice President for Africa.
Currently, Dr. Beileh is on a working visit to the United States.
During his Tuesday discussions with the IMF and World Bank officials, Dr. Beileh sought their views on the way forward for Somalia’s economic reforms.
