Somalia’s Minister of Finance joined his colleagues from the Horn of Africa region in hailing the role that a regional body plays in addressing economic shocks.
Dr. Elmi M. Nur, Somalia’s finance minister, joined his colleagues from Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, and South Sudan in the Friday, October 13 meeting.
The finance ministers praised the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) for playing a central role in strengthening regional and international cooperation.
The ministers, who met in Washington DC during the 14th Horn of Africa Ministerial Roundtable, hailed the role IGAD plays in helping their countries to address all manner of crises.
