A young Somali girl has killed a driver who attempted to rape her in Egypt.
Reports from the North African country indicate that the 15-year-old Somali girl was almost the victim of rape.
Apparently, the driver had threatened her with a knife to force her to give in to his advances.
The teenage girl refused.
At the time, the girl was the only passenger in the driver’s minibus.
The man drove the tuk-tuk to a secluded area with the intention of raping her while holding the knife to her neck.
According to sources, the incident took place in the Egyptian city of 6th of October.
The girl then successfully snatched the knife from the driver before using it to stab him in the chest.
Afterward, she fled and reported herself at the nearest police station.
She said her intention was only to defend herself rather than kill the driver. The girl was in the company of her lawyer when she arrived at the police station.
Egypt’s Public Prosecution has opted to keep the girl in their custody for four days pending an investigation into the matter.
