The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has banned all gambling activities in the country.
Specifically, the government announced that it would not allow Somalis or anyone else in the country to gamble on sites such as 1XBET.
The ban is now in effect a few days after the National Anti-Money Laundering and Counterterrorism Financing Commission (NAMLC) announced the ban.
NAMLC initially announced the ban on November 16.
In enforcing the ban, NAMLC indicated that it took this unprecedented move as part of the government’s efforts to financial practices align with Somalia’s religious beliefs and laws.
