The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) has urged all its agencies and departments to join all counterterrorism efforts around the country.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre issued this call on Thursday when he chaired this week’s Council of Ministers meeting.
The Prime Minister commended the incredible efforts of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF).
Military personnel around the country have intensified counterterrorism operations against Al-Shabaab and other similar groups.
They are on the verge of launching the second phase of the anti-terrorism offensives.
Barre expressed gratitude to the armed forces for their incredible sacrifices in securing the country.
During today’s weekly cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Barre also highlighted the resolution by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to lead the offensives.
He called upon more Somalis to support the government in eradicating terrorism from the country too.
