New York – Abdalle Ahmed Mumin, Secretary General of the Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS), received an Honourable Mention at the 2025 Allard Prize for International Integrity.
The award, presented during a ceremony in New York, celebrates global efforts to advance transparency, defend human rights, and combat corruption.
Mumin was recognized for his courageous advocacy for press freedom and protection of journalists in Somalia, often at great personal risk.
The Allard Prize jury praised his steadfast commitment to democratic values in one of the world’s most challenging media environments.
