Somali journalists have adopted the National Action Plan (NAP) on the Safety of Journalists.
The journalists adopted the NAP during an event organized by the National Union of Somali Journalists (NUSOJ).
NUSOJ held the event in Mogadishu.
Other organizations that partnered with NUSOJ to hold the event included the African Union (AU) and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) also contributed to making the event a success.
The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), with which NUSOJ is affiliated, commended Somali journalists for adopting the action plan.
Somalia remains one of the world’s most dangerous countries for journalists.
