Somali Justice Minister Meets Italian Delegation to Boost Legal and Constitutional Reforms

Mogadishu, Somalia – Somali Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Sheikh Ali, on Sunday welcomed a high-level delegation from the Italian Embassy in Somalia, led by Ambassador Alberto Daccò Coppi, at his office in Mogadishu.

The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of justice sector reform and the completion of Somalia’s constitutional process. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, Italy reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Somalia’s efforts to build a transparent, fair, and effective legal system.

“Italy reaffirmed support for Somalia’s efforts to strengthen its justice sector,” the ministry stated, highlighting shared priorities in institutional development and rule of law.

Italy has long been a key partner in Somalia’s state-building process, and Sunday’s engagement marks another step in deepening collaboration, particularly as Somalia continues to advance its justice reform agenda and finalize its permanent constitution.

Both sides expressed optimism about ongoing partnerships and pledged to continue working together to promote peace, stability, and justice for all Somali citizens.
