MOGADISHU, Somalia – A senior delegation from Somalia’s House of the People has completed its involvement in the Eastern Africa Parliamentary Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition conference. The significant summit, convened in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, assembled legislative representatives from throughout the region to tackle essential agricultural challenges and policy frameworks.
Lasting four days, the gathering was attended by prominent Somali officials, including multiple Members of Parliament and the Director of the General Secretariat of the House of the People, Mr. Mohamed Hussein Abdullahi. The conclusion of this event signals a renewed emphasis on legislative engagement in addressing hunger and enhancing nutritional standards across East Africa.
The principal agenda of the conference centered on reinforcing parliamentary leadership concerning food security and nutrition. Participants took part in comprehensive dialogues about transforming food and agricultural systems to be more resilient and sustainable.
