Somali journalists have called for the dismissal of the charges that authorities filed against the Secretary-General of the Somali Journalists Syndicate (SJS).
They appealed to the government to drop charges it had filed against Abdalle Ahmed Mumin.
Authorities have kept Mumin in detention since October 11, 2022.
On November 26, journalists and other professionals forming the media fraternity in Somalia asked the government to set him free.
SJS, Somalia Mechanism for Safety of Journalists (SMJS), and the Somali Media Association (SOMA) have all appealed to the government to dismiss the charges against Mumin.
Mumin is the SJS Secretary-General.
