Al-Shabaab terrorists raided a popular hotel in Mogadishu.
Witnesses said that the terrorists raided Villa Rosa Hotel in the nation’s capital on the evening of Sunday, November 27 at around 8 pm.
They then laid siege to the hotel.
The brazen attack left the entire country in shock considering that the hotel is not far from Villa Somalia where the President has his office.
Furthermore, it’s close to a prison that’s under the control of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA).
Security forces have launched an operation to get the terrorists out of the hotel.
They intend to ensure that no harm befalls anyone who was caught up in the complex attack.
According to security sources, Al-Shabaab might have targeted the hotel owing to its popularity with politicians and government officials.
Witnesses stated that the attack started with an explosion at around 8.05 pm.
At the moment, it’s not clear whether anyone has been killed or injured in the attack.
