The appeals division of the Somali military court has reinforced the death penalty that was passed against a police killer earlier this year.
On Monday, the court passed judgment on the matter after concluding the appeals process.
In February this year, a lower court passed a death sentence on Abdullahi Abdi Mustaf after finding him guilty of killing Abdikarin Ibrahim Ali Awdaango.
At the time of the incident, Awdaango had been serving as a police constable.
According to the court report, Mustaf was in the company of Dahir Abdi Mustaf, who was Awdaango’s fellow police constable.
Dahir will spend the next four years in jail.
