Somali military claims that it has killed 17 Al-Shabaab militants in Middle Shabelle.
According to the military officers, the militants were killed in the region on December 24 during a security operation.
Apart from killing the militants, the Somali National Army (SNA) officers also destroyed the Al-Shabaab dens in the region.
Lately, the government troops in various parts of the country have been carrying out security operations against the militants.
The operations have increased in intensity and frequency during the ongoing elections for House of the People (Lower House) seats.
Specifically, Friday’s operation took place in Gambole.
