Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation participated in the opening ceremony of the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Abshir Omar Jama, the foreign affairs minister, took part in the opening ceremony that was held on Monday, September 19 in New York.
The theme for this UNGA session is “Solutions Through Solidarity, Sustainability, and Science.”
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia is expected to return to the US for the latter UNGA sessions.
He was in the US last week but had to travel to the United Kingdom for the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who was laid to rest on Monday.
