Hanifa Mohamed Ibrahim, Somalia’s Minister of Women and Human Rights Development, says that the next parliament must have not less than 97 women representatives.
Ibrahim said this on December 23 while addressing the Somali Women in Business Summit 2020, which is taking place at Decale Hotel.
In her address, Ibrahim said that all previous electoral bills constantly mentioned 30 percent of women quota but this has never been implemented.
However, she now expresses hope that the next administration would implement the women quota by increasing representation to 30 percent.
