Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, on Tuesday paid an official visit to the National Center for Rural Development and Durable Solutions, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving the lives of rural communities and fostering long-term stability.
The minister was warmly welcomed by the Center’s Director General, Ms. Sahra Abdi, and Deputy Director, Dr. Abdullahi Zahid, who briefed him on the Center’s ongoing projects, major achievements, and milestones reached since its inception. Their presentation highlighted efforts in sustainable agriculture, community resettlement, and resilience-building in regions affected by drought and displacement.
During the visit, Hosh commended the dedication of the staff and emphasized the Center’s vital role in addressing the root causes of rural poverty and displacement. He urged them to maintain momentum in implementing practical, community-driven programs that enhance livelihoods and promote social cohesion across the country.
The visit also served as a morale boost for the institution’s employees, many of whom work directly with vulnerable communities to design and deliver locally adapted solutions. Minister Hosh assured them of his ministry’s continued support, particularly in strengthening coordination between federal and regional authorities to ensure rural development remains a national priority.
The National Center for Rural Development and Durable Solutions plays a pivotal role in the Federal Government’s broader strategy to achieve sustainable recovery, focusing on inclusive growth, stability, and self-reliance among Somalia’s rural population.
