Federal lawmaker Abdirisakh Abdullahi Moalim Eid has accused government officials of threatening to kill him.
Moalim said that he has become a target of government officials following his comments on Al-Shabaab attacks on the central prison and Top Café restaurant in Mogadishu this month.
Several people lost their lives in both attacks.
He has not identified the individuals who made the threats.
This situation underscores the dangerous environment in which Somali lawmakers operate and the potential repercussions they face for speaking out against militant activities and security issues in the country.
