Somali MP Accuses Officials of Secret Criminal Deportation Deal

Mogadishu, Somalia – A senior Somali lawmaker has accused government officials of secretly striking a deal with European countries to accept deported criminals in exchange for personal payments, sparking calls for an immediate investigation.

Dr. Abdillahi Hashi Abib, a Member of Parliament, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and declared presidential candidate, alleged that corrupt officials in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Directorate of Immigration and Citizenship have sold out Somalia’s sovereignty through a covert “Special Case” arrangement with the European Union and the United Kingdom.

According to Dr. Abib, the deal allows the transfer of convicted Somali-origin criminals from Europe to Mogadishu, with officials allegedly pocketing $45,000 for each deportee. He said that for the past six months, dangerous individuals — including rapists, pedophiles, and gang leaders — have been flown into Somalia and released without accountability.

The MP raised alarm over a scheduled flight on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., in which a Swedish government plane, described as a “special plane without manifesto,” is reportedly set to land in Mogadishu carrying 28 Somali-Swedish deportees. Among them, Dr. Abib claimed, is a man flagged by INTERPOL as a child predator.

“This is not immigration — it is bribery, treason, and human trafficking. I call for the immediate cancellation of this flight, the arrest of all involved corrupt officials, and an end to Europe’s criminal dumping ground scheme. Somalia is not for sale, and as candidate for President, I vow this betrayal will never be allowed to continue,” Dr. Abib declared.

The allegations, if verified, would mark a major scandal with profound implications for Somalia’s sovereignty, security, and international relations. Public outrage has already begun to spread, with growing pressure on the government to respond before the plane’s scheduled arrival.

As of Monday afternoon, neither Somali authorities nor European governments have issued statements addressing the claims expressed by Dr. Abib.
