A federal Member of Parliament (MP) claims that Ethiopia acquired Awdal in the deal it signed with Somaliland earlier this week.
While addressing his colleagues, the legislator claimed that the deal signed on Monday between Ethiopia and Somaliland granted the former access to the entire Awdal region.
He was speaking in reference to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Ethiopia signed with Somaliland to give it direct access to 20km of a Somaliland seaport.
The MP asked his colleagues and the government of Somalia to take drastic and immediate measures to reverse the situation.
