Somali Members of Parliament will join their colleagues from the other East African nations at the regional sports competition scheduled for Mombasa.
East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Speaker Joseph Ntakirutimana confirmed this on Wednesday.
He said this while addressing the federal legislators in parliament in Mogadishu.
Speaker Ntakirutimana, who is currently on a working visit to Mogadishu, added that regional sports competitions can be a great way to foster camaraderie and unity among neighboring countries.
The participation of Somali MPs in the event could help strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties between Somalia and other East African nations.
