Somali National Army (SNA) has killed eight members of Al-Shabaab. The killing took place in Hiran region today early in the morning.
The Al-Qaeda affiliated insurgents have created havoc in the region for a long time. SNA carried out an effective raid in the area to flash them out before killing them.
Speaking to National Armed Forces Radio, the Chief of Staff of the 27th Brigade of the SNA, Maj. Gen. Saleh Yaqoub, said they killed eight members of Al-Shabaab in a military operation.
The dead include some senior members of the extremist group. Other than that, the military was able seize military equipment that the group stole in previous attacks.
Maj. Gen. Yaqoub also said, “The Fifth Battalion of the National Army carried out the military operation 27kms from Beledweyne Town.”
Officers from SNA explained that the well-executed operation achieved its objectives. In the last two years, SNA planned and executed many successful operations against Al-Shabaab in Hiran.
