The Somali National Theater (SNT) screened its first movie in 30 years on September 22.
Moviegoers – young and old alike – packed the auditorium hours before the first movie was scheduled for screening.
For over three decades, the facility has been unable to screen any movie. Years of conflicts and neglect made it a non-priority in the eyes of authorities.
Hundreds of people flocked the facility to take part in this historic moment.
Recently, different stakeholders from Somalia and the country’s international partners collaborated to renovate the theater.
