Somali Offers $30K Reward for Information on Recent Mogadishu Mortar Attacks

Mogadishu, Somalia – The Somali government has announced a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for recent mortar attacks in Mogadishu that left several civilians dead and many others wounded.

The attacks, which occurred over the past week, targeted residential neighborhoods and government installations, sparking fear among city residents.

The Ministry of Internal Security stated that the reward is part of an intensified effort to track down and dismantle the network behind the assaults.

“We are urging citizens to come forward with any credible information. The safety of our people is our top priority,” said Internal Security Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag.

Security forces have increased patrols and set up additional checkpoints throughout the capital, while intelligence units continue to investigate potential leads.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, though suspicion has fallen on Al-Shabaab militants, who have carried out similar operations in the past.

The government emphasized that all tips will be handled with full confidentiality and that informants will be protected.

The $30,000 bounty is the largest reward offered this year for information related to acts of terrorism in the capital.

Residents with information can contact a dedicated hotline or approach local security officers discreetly.
