Somali federal lawmaker Hassan Abdi Ismail has been suspended from attending parliament sessions for two months following an incident in which he assaulted a police inspector on November 27.
In addition to the suspension, the legislator will face fines and reductions in his allowances as a penalty for violating the regulations of the Lower House.
This disciplinary action was announced in a statement issued by Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Aadan Madobe), underscoring the Lower House’s commitment to maintaining decorum and accountability among its members.
