The Somali Poetry Awards are to kick off from September 21.
On Saturday, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced this news to all poetry enthusiasts in Somalia.

Somali is rich with poets who often write on culture, history, and contemporary issues.
It is the home of some of the most passionate poets too, who never waste any moment to speak out on the issues bedeviling the society.
UNDP announced that it would award the Poet of the Year, UNDP Woman Poet of the Year, and the Youth Poet of the Year from the submissions received from Somalis from different parts of the country.
