Officers from the Somali Police Force (SPF) are currently carrying out an intense operation on illicit alcohol.
The crackdown seeks to identify places where illicit alcohol is brewed.
Over the last few days, police officers have arrested countless individuals for brewing and selling illicit alcoholic drinks in Mogadishu.
Omar Mohamud Filish, the Mayor of Mogadishu and Governor of Benadir Regional Administration (BRA), is leading the operation.
He has declared war on the industry and advised the brewers to abandon production and selling of illicit brew and move to other legal businesses.
Thus far, Mogadishu authorities have closed down over 20 shops that sell illicit brews.
Abdifatah Adan, the spokesperson of the SPF in Mogadishu, promised that the operation would continue into all parts of the city too.
