The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) of the Somali Police Force (SPF) detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) that was left at a busy market in Mogadishu.
Officers from the BDU were at the market in Mogadishu’s Hamarweyne district on Wednesday to detonate the explosive device.
They succeeded in their mission without the IED going off or anyone getting injured.
Police cordoned off the area and moved bystanders away before detonating the IED that was left hidden in a bag.
The identity of the people who left the IED at the market remains unknown.
