Somali Police Launch Investigations over the Murder of Two Pregnant Women

Somali Police Force (SPF) officers have announced the launching of investigations into the shocking murder of two pregnant women in Mogadishu.

The women were murdered just as they prepared to board a vehicle to work on February 14.

Reports indicate that they worked for the Ministry of Defense as cleaners.

Abdikadir Ali Fara’adde, the Deynile Deputy Security Commissioner, released the names of the two pregnant women. They are Muno Hassan and Fartun Hassan.

The two Hassan sisters were not the only ones shot and killed in Sunday’s incident, though. One other woman, identified as Fadumo Sheikh Nur, was also murdered.

Fara’adde said that police have launched investigations into the incident, which also left several other women with injuries.

The injured were rushed to a local Mogadishu hospital where they are currently receiving medical care.
