Somali Police Sacks Two Officers for Ramadan Violation

Somali Police Force (SPF) sent two of its officers packing on charges of violating Ramadan.

Abdi Saaq Adan Alasoow and Abdullahi Mohamed Ahmed are no longer part of the SPF following the decision to fire them.

SPF opted to fire them on Tuesday.

SPF found them guilty of abusing drugs and consuming food, habits that contravened the dictates of the Islam faith, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

They were found guilty of contravening the Police Force Act, which is designed to enforce ethical standards among officers in the force.
