Somali Police Force (SPF) officers seized 140 mortars from terrorists in an operation carried out in Mogadishu.
The police seized the mortars from terrorists who launched an attack on the city on Saturday night.
Kasim Ahmed, a police spokesperson, said that the terrorists caused the fire that consumed part of Bakara Market.
The market is the largest in Mogadishu and the entire country.
He added that terrorists planted an explosive device at the market. The device then exploded thus causing the inferno that destroyed several businesses.
