Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre delivered a powerful address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78).
He addressed UNGA78 on Saturday.
In the speech at UNGA78 in New York, Prime Minister Barre highlighted the progress the Somali government has made in security.
His speech touched on financial reforms and counterterrorism efforts too.
Specifically, he urged the UN Security Council (UNSC) to consider lifting the arms embargo slapped on Somalia three decades ago.
Barre said Somalia can never defeat Al-Shabaab or assume full responsibility of the nation with the arms embargo still in place.
