The President of Somalia has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to attend the 37th African Union (AU) Summit.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s plane landed at the international airport in the Ethiopian capital shortly after departing from the Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
The 37th AU Summit will run from February 17-18.
The Somali President is scheduled to address the Summit. His speech will focus on sovereignty and territorial integrity, especially in the face of what he calls excessive aggression by Ethiopia.
President Mohamud will also discuss Somalia’s peace, security, and economy with other leaders.
Officials from the Ethiopian government were on hand to accord him a warm welcome when he alighted from his plane on Friday afternoon.
