President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has arrived safely in Washington DC.
The Somali President landed in the United States on Thursday, September 15 a few hours after departing Mogadishu, Somalia.
While in Washington, President Mohamud is scheduled to hold meetings with several leaders.
These include Lloyd Austin and Jacob J. Sullivan. Austin is the US Secretary of State while Sullivan serves as the National Security Advisor.
Further, President Mohamud will participate in the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
