President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, speaking at the High-Level Meeting on Peace and Security in Beijing during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), expressed concerns over a recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Ethiopia with a regional administration in Somalia.
He highlighted that such agreements pose a threat to regional stability, emphasizing the need for respect for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
President Mohamud was referring to the MoU that Ethiopia and Somaliland signed on January 1, 2024.
The President’s remarks underscore the sensitive nature of regional relations and the importance of upholding mutual respect and cooperation among neighboring countries.
