President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia has called for an end to all hostilities in Las Anod.
Abukar Osman Baale, the Permanent Representative of Somalia to the United Nations, told the UN Security Council (UNSC) this.
Ambassador Baale addressed the UNSC on Wednesday, 6 p.m. Mogadishu time.
He added that the President had called upon all warring parties to cease hostilities and negotiate a lasting ceasefire.
Baale briefed the UNSC that the Somali government is prepared to create the conditions for an all-inclusive Somali-owned and driven national dialogue.
