President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has praised Somaliland’s presidential elections, describing them as “a role model” for democratic governance.
Speaking during a prayer event held in honor of the late President Ahmed Mohamud Silanyo on Friday evening, Somalia’s President Mohamud emphasized the importance of empowering citizens through universal suffrage.
He called this “a fundamental principle” that strengthens democracy and ensures people have the right to choose their leaders.
The President also reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering democratic values and achieving universal suffrage in Somalia, signaling a strong push toward inclusive and participatory governance across the nation.
