The President of Somalia commended the Arab League for supporting his country’s bid for the non-permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
Somalia has bid for the seat for the 2025-2026 period.
It has already earned the approval of the African Union (AU).
On Saturday, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a meeting with the ambassadors from the Arab League to express gratitude for their support.
His meeting with the diplomats took place in Addis Ababa where he is at for the 37th AU Summit.
