President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has commended the ongoing counterterrorism war in Somalia.
On Thursday, he delivered a speech commending security agencies in the country for conducting a seemingly successful offensive against terrorists.
“The era of terror and destruction that terrorists have wrought against Somalis over the years is now over,” President Mohamud said.
He added that the success of the ongoing offensives is the result of a powerful collaboration between the Somali National Army (SNA) and local communities.
President Mohamud was speaking while addressing thousands of residents who gathered in Mogadishu in protest against terrorists.
The Popular Resistance Campaign against terrorists was launched during the gathering that took place at the Eng. Yarisow Football Stadium, Mogadishu.
