Mogadishu – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has extended heartfelt congratulations to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, the American people, and the government of the United States on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day, celebrated annually on July 4th.
In his message, President Mohamud praised the enduring friendship between Somalia and the United States and expressed his admiration for the American spirit of freedom, democracy, and resilience.
“On behalf of the Federal Republic of Somalia, I congratulate President Donald Trump, the government, and the great people of the United States as they commemorate their Independence Day. This day symbolizes the pursuit of liberty and the enduring values that bind nations together,” President Mohamud stated.
The Somali leader emphasized the importance of strong bilateral relations and reiterated his government’s commitment to continued collaboration with the U.S. across key sectors including security, economic growth, education, and governance.
Under President Trump’s administration, the United States has maintained strategic engagement with Somalia, particularly in counterterrorism cooperation and humanitarian support.
July 4th marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and is celebrated across the United States with parades, fireworks, and patriotic displays.
