President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia established the National Climate Fund (NCF) on Sunday.
A communique from Villa Somalia indicated that the President formed the fund and immediately appointed Liban Dahir Obsiye as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The newly established fund will work closely with the federal government to create an enabling environment for making inclusive climate policies.
It will enhance climate financing too.
According to the government, the fund would enable it and other stakeholders to pursue inclusive climate change mitigation as well as adaptation projects.
