President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Baidoa to oversee counterterrorism operations in the country.
The President arrived in the administrative capital of Southwest State on Wednesday evening.
Southwest’s President Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen was at the Baidoa airport to welcome President Mohamud to the city.
Officials from the federal and regional state governments were equally on hand to receive Mohamud.
President Mohamud is scheduled to visit a number of army bases in Baidoa and the surrounding areas to mobilize military operations against Al-Shabaab insurgents.
