President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has arrived in Cairo, for a two-day official visit sanctioned by the Egyptian and Somali governments.
This visit comes shortly after Somalia and Egypt reached a defense and security pact aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two nations.
As part of this agreement, Egypt has expressed its intention to contribute to the new African Union (AU) mission in Somalia, which is set to become effective in January 2025.
This development underscores the growing collaboration between Somalia and Egypt in regional security matters, particularly in combating terrorism and stabilizing Somalia.
